..The 2022 General Assembly of the IFRC was held from the 19th to the 21st of June in Geneva. The GFARC is pleased to have been represented through the presence of its director, Dr. Pascal Cassan.

The IFRC General Assembly 2022 was a major moment for the French Red Cross and the GFARC. Indeed, as part of the repositioning of first aid initiative in the 2030 IFRC strategy, the French Red Cross chaired and introduced a session on the adoption of the new First Aid Policy and Vision. The General Assembly gave a very favourable reception to these texts, which were adopted unanimously by the 192 National Societies of the Movement.

Moreover, the General Assembly was marked by the numerous statements made by National Societies in favor of first aid. No less than 28 National Societies took the floor and made statements to highlight the importance of first aid and support the adoption of the new texts.

The Global First Aid Reference Centre is pleased with the final outcome of adoption of the First Aid Policy and Vision which sets out an ambitious roadmap for the development of first aid worldwide, and eager to support National Societies to achieve these new ambitions.
