IFAA Representatives

The IFAA (International First Aid Attestation) Representative supports the applicant National Society and represents the IFRC Global First Aid Reference Centre during the International First Aid Attestation (IFAA) process.

His/her main role focuses on:

  • Reviewing the first aid training self-assessment and annexed materials to provide feedbacks through the self-assessment feedback form (IFAA stage 1)
  • Conducting the Monitoring & Evaluation field visit and reporting on it to the Reference Centre (IFAA stage 2)
  • Facilitating the draft of the IFAA action plan during the Monitoring & Evaluation field visit, upon request from the National Society.

Our team of  IFAA Representatives comprise National Society members, employee or volunteer, who have a sound strategic knowledge in first aid teaching as well as extended field experience in first aid education. They possess a very good understanding of the IFRC International First Aid, Resuscitation and Education Guidelines and their related first aid skills.  They have extensive experience with interactive, learner centered trainings.

They also have a very good command of written and spoken English, since the IFAA process is held in English – additionally, proficiency in languages relevant to the region(s) or sub-region(s) of support is among their strong assets.

The IFAA Representatives are identified and trained by the Global First Aid Reference Centre (volunteer for the Reference Centre but belonging to a National Society). Currently, there is a team of 17 IFAA Representatives based within the five IFRC regions:
