First Aid goes digital!

Since 2000, the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) and its National Societies have been honoring first aid on the Second Saturday of September of each year. This aims to raise public awareness on how first aid can save lives every day and specially in situations of crisis. For this year, the event will be about digital innovations.

The chosen theme is:

First Aid in the Digital World

Why has digital an important role to play in promoting first aid?

It helps us reach our goal: make first aid knowledge accessible to all. From basic or intensive learning to refresher courses in life-saving techniques, digital technology allows anyone with or without internet access to learn first aid. It is a new way to become a life-saver and exchange first aid practices from around the world: from home, at your own pace, without necessarily having to adjust your schedule. And, last but not least, this year will be special for digital technologies as the Global First Aid Reference Center is about to launch the new updated version of the First Aid App.
