Collaborating Towards First Aid Vision 2030:

Last January, the President of the Red Cross Society of China, Mr. Chen Zhu, and his delegation visited the French Red Cross and the Global First Aid Reference Centre. The main purpose of the visit was to discuss opportunities for collaboration and cooperation between the Centre, two National Societies and in the Movement in general.

During the visit, several fundamental topics were discussed such as International Humanitarian Law, the French Red Cross Foundation, Youth & Resources Mobilization and First Aid. The discussions were fruitful, and a Framework Cooperation Agreement was signed between the two societies as a symbol of their promising collaboration.

As one of the main areas of focus during the visit was First Aid. The Global First Aid Reference Centre’s team was particularly interested in collaborating with the Red Cross Society of China to promote first aid in Asia region. There was a promising understanding to work on a common action plan as the basis for a cooperation in the First Aid sector. This partnership shall be a significant step towards achieving the Vision 2030, which is to enhance the activities of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement globally.

The Red Cross Society of China, with the Global First Aid Reference Centre, promised to be a key player in First Aid. All parties were excited to explore several avenues for collaboration and partnerships, including research and education core areas.

Overall, the visit of the Red Cross Society of China was a significant step towards strengthening our collaboration. We are committed to work together towards our common goal and Vision 2030 of promoting humanitarian values and providing aid to those in need. We are excited to see what’s next!
