August 10, 2023

The Global Innovation Summit held from the 26 to 28 June in Nairobi, Kenya, united change makers, thought leaders, and experts to explore the transformative power of innovation in our National Societies. Responsive and adaptive National Societies are now more critical than ever in our rapidly changing world.  For this year’s event, two members of GFARC team, Eloïse de Almeida and Mercedes Aguerre, represented the Centre, particularly to introduce the new First Aid App.

GFARC’s project manager, Eloïse de Almeida’s presentation on First Aid in the Digital Era focused on the upcoming launch of the Universal First Aid Application. This application aims to significantly enhance first aid by providing accessible and reliable information to professionals and everyday citizens. The Universal First Aid Application is promising to improve our ability to provide effective assistance. By leveraging technology, it empowers individuals with knowledge and resources to save lives. Stay tuned for updates as GFARC pushes boundaries and shapes the future of first aid in the digital age.

As for Mercedes, GFARC’s manager for the Asia Pacific region, she participated in two online sessions focused on the emerging technology used in humanitarian response. In these interactive sessions, participants took part on an activity to rate the latest technology. Then, they had discussion breakouts to talk with others about how technology is used or not used within the IFRC network.

Join us in embracing innovation to build stronger and more resilient National Societies!
