Uniting First Aid Training in the Baltic Region

Jun 18, 2024 | News

In April 2024, a sub-regional event took place in Tallinn, Estonia, where representatives from Estonia, Lithuania, and Latvia gathered for a Training of Trainers (ToT) Level C Course. The objective of the course was to streamline and harmonize first aid training protocols across the Baltic region.

The training was marked by innovation and inclusivity, drawing inspiration from the Global First Aid Reference Centre’s ToT Facilitation guide. A diverse range of learner-centered approaches were employed, with personal narratives adding depth and relevance to the sessions. Before the course began, participants were given introspective exercises to ensure a tailored learning experience

Two dynamic micro-teaching sessions were central to the training’s success. While the first was meticulously planned in advance, the second introduced an element of spontaneity, challenging participants to think on their feet and showcase their adaptability.

Throughout the training, the Estonian Red Cross played a pivotal role by offering unwavering support in logistical matters and ensuring a conducive learning environment for all involved.

As the training drew to a close, participants emerged with a newfound sense of confidence and proficiency. The awarding of certificates served as a tangible testament to their dedication and the collective strides made towards standardized first aid training in the Baltic region.

Congrats to all involved, the session was a great success thanks to our Master Educator Nadiia Iamnenko.
