Biographical Info
Magen David Adom (MDA), Israel’s National EMS and Blood Services Organization, has inscribed on its flag the Talmudic dictum – “Whoever saves a single soul… is as though he has saved the whole world.” This well-known saying has been the central focus of MDA since its inception. Magen David Adom in Israel has faithfully served the country’s population since June 1930 by adhering to principles which are derived from the value of “saving a single soul”. These include: providing first aid and emergency medical services, offering training programs and other professional services to the general public and the medical professionals, collecting blood donations and supplying them to hospitals and undertaking humanitarian activities in Israel and abroad in times of need.
