On November 20, 2024, the Global First Aid Reference Centre (GFARC) hosted the annual gathering of our pool of International Master Educators from around the world. The meeting, held online via Zoom, brought together experts in first aid education to share knowledge, discuss innovations, and strengthen the global network of first aid trainers.
The meeting was a vibrant exchange of ideas and showcased the diversity and expertise of participants from National Societies across the globe. With live interpretation in Arabic and Russian, the event ensured inclusivity for all attendees.
The agenda for the event was packed with exciting developments aimed at empowering trainers and enhancing first aid education:
- GFARC introduced newly inducted educators (Florina Mindu, Georgiana Trafandir ,Luciano Nardi de Luca and Santiago Camino), expanding the network’s global reach.
- Participants were presented with the revised Trainer of Trainers (Level C) Development Guide, designed to set new standards in first aid education and more focus on practical experience with the theoretical existing one.
- The meeting also introduced the First Aid Trainer (Level B) Development Guide, providing fresh resources for empowering trainers.
- GFARC shared updates on internal procedures, ensuring smoother organization of future trainings and easier follow up for National Societies requesting a ToT.
Speakers Dr. Jeffrey Pellegrino, Sarah Witiw, and Bassinte Ossama led these engaging sessions, sparking insightful discussions among the attendees.
The event fostered meaningful connections among educators, enabling them to share experiences, challenges, and innovative solutions in first aid training. With over 25 participants, the diverse perspectives contributed to enriching the discussions and aligning efforts to elevate first aid education globally.
The meeting concluded with a call for continued collaboration, inviting participants to share feedback through a post-event survey and to provide recommendations to strengthen our network. GFARC is committed to using these insights to refine future initiatives and strengthen its global community of educators.
As the world faces new challenges, the Global Master Educators Meeting reaffirmed the importance of first aid education as a cornerstone of resilience and empowerment.
