Every year during the Hajj season, Saudi Arabia welcomes thousands of pilgrims from all around the world. The annual pilgrimage to Mecca is one of the most crowded events in the world. Many staff and volunteers have been mobilised to ensure that all pilgrims remain safe and have the best experience. During Hajj season 2021, the Saudi Red Crescent Authority has doubled its efforts in order to organise first aid trainings.

A total of 8 163 people have been trained, either people from the Saudi Red Crescent Authority, staff from governments or the private sector, as well as pilgrims guiders and volunteers. They conducted more than 150 training courses on multiple topics: First Aid and CPR, disaster management, Emergency Medical Services safety, pre-hospital care and many others.
